Catalyst is passionate about providing mentors with excellent training and support so that they can be amazing mentors. Every community member that is interested in becoming a mentor must fill out a mentor application. After we received your application we will contact you to set up an interview. We want to get to know you and hear more about your heart for mentoring the youth of our city. After your interview, we complete a background check, to ensure the safety of our mentees. Once you have been interviewed and background checked we get you signed up for mentor training. This looks like coming to two 3 hour trainings, held on a weeknight or occasionally on a Saturday. However, we are in the process of creating an online training platform that will allow you to start the training process from home. We are hopeful this will be rolled out by February 2021. Once you are interviewed, background checked and trained we will match you with your mentees. We currently offer mentoring in two locations; in the Catalyst office between the hours of 1:45 pm and 5:30 pm Monday – Friday and on the Shasta High Campus on Wednesday Mornings.
