Here at Catalyst, we are passionate about connecting the youth in our community with mentors. We cannot do that without awesome community members like you. What we’ve found is that people can be really intimidated by the idea of mentoring or overwhelmed by the weight of carrying a kids story with them. That’s why we’ve created training that gives you a better understanding of what kids may be experiencing and how you can best support them through your mentoring sessions. During this training you will be introduced to Adverse Childhood Experiences, The Framework for Understanding Poverty, Adolescent Brain Development, Mentoring 101, Conflict Management, and Tips and Tricks for building relational equity. The knowledge you will take away from this training will give you the tools to walk into mentoring with confidence and become the best mentor you can be!
